Did You Know...

  • Most houses with forced-air furnaces have a standard furnace filter made from loosely woven spun-glass fibers designed to keep it and its ductwork clean. Unfortunately, they don't improve indoor air quality. That takes a media filter, which sits in between the main return duct and the blower cabinet. Made of a deeply pleated, paper-like material, media filters are at least seven times better than a standard filter at removing dust and other particles. An upgrade to a pleated media filter will cleanse the air of everything from insecticide dust to flu viruses.
  • Two-stage heating means the furnace has two levels celebrity nudes of heat output: high for cold winter days and low for milder days. Since the low setting is adequate to meet household-cooling demands 80% of the time, a two-stage unit runs for longer periods and provides more even heat distribution.
  • Maintenance and service play a key role in the lifecycle of a heating or air conditioning system. If all recommended maintenance and service actions are taken, an air conditioner can last 12 to 15 years and a gas furnace 20 to 25 years.
  • HVAC system maintenance isn’t expensive compared to what you might spend if your system degrades (and ultimately fails).
  • Each 1-degree drop f propecia online or an eight-hour period reduces your fuel bill about one percent. Gradually, you might be able to go down 3 or even 4 degrees comfortably and save money.
  • most throwaway filters only catch about 7% of the dust particles that pass across it. That means almost 93% of the rest of the dust gets lodged in your heating and cooling system, either in the ducts or in the coil.
  • the majority of air conditioning problems could have been prevented with a proper tune-up on your heating and cooling system?
  • Just a 100th of an inch of dirt or film on an evaporator coil can reduce its efficiency 5%.
  • A dirty evaporator, condenser and blower celebrity porn could increase air conditioning or heat pump electrical usage by 50% or more.
  • A "Freon" (refrigerant) undercharge of only 10% can increase operating costs by almost 20%
