MCMECH now has GPS Fleet Tracking

Efficient routing and scheduling is a key requirement for businesses when dispatching fleet vehicles. The GPS fleet tracking system provides us with real-time information on the location and status of our fleet, assisting us in:

  • Response time: Providing the  customer with the closest available technician in the event of an emergency service call.
  • Routing Information:The ability to direct the technician to the jobsite in the most efficient route and providing real time information to the technician on the closest supplier to the jobsite. This is of particularly importance when the service call is outside of our normal territory and the technician may not kw ow of a supplier in the area.
  • Fleet maintenance: GPS is used to shedule vehicle maintenance. E-mails are generated automatically when a vehicle needs maintenance or another programmed item.
  • Safety: As our technicians often work alone and in isolated areas, knowing where they are is critical if they become injured.
  • Dispute resolution: We are able to pull reports on the whereabouts and duration in case there is a conflict or dispute over time.
  • Efficiency: Speeding and idling time is monitored and reduced to minimize gas consumption and vehicle maintenace/repair costs.
  • Risk Management: Efficiency leads to less travel and low speeds minimizes our risk exposure.

It is about being efficient and safe, providing our customers with better service and value in a competative market.
